Dot NAME Domains

Set up in 2001, the .NAME top-level domain extension is the single TLD meant for personal sites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, aliases and/or other designations people are famous by. Initially, only 3rd-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to reserve john.doe.name, you were required to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already purchased third-level names remained functional.

Through our firm, you can purchase your dot NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to modify the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to edit Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an existing domain to our company if you obtain its EPP transfer code from the present registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been finalized. There are no special regulations on who can buy a .NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain name, the registration might be challenged.
