Dot IT Domains

Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific top-level extension is very popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and appealing domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to construct an easy-to-remember domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to share it with colleagues and fellows. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is linked to the technology sector having in mind that IT is an abbreviation, which is recognized worldwide.

Having in mind the fact that dot IT domains are not registered directly by IT-NIC, the Registry organization that manages this top-level extension, such a domain can be booked through a third-party domain provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can register a .IT domain for a period of 1 year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it once the transfer has been completed. The only requirement is that the person purchasing such a domain is required to be located in a country, which is a member of the EU.

As there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of various areas and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical regions of any kind are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion.
